The report claims that Samsung plans on discontinuing the device once Samsung’s inventory for its materials runs out. They also go on to claim that Samsung will be taking the recently announced Galaxy A5 to take the Galaxy Alpha’s place instead. Apparently this is part of Samsung’s plan to trim the fat and focus on cheaper devices.
Given the price of the Galaxy Alpha and the fact that it doesn’t exactly have flagship specs certainly makes it a relatively expensive phone, at least when you consider what else you could have gotten for your money. At the same time the Galaxy Alpha hasn’t exactly been a hit amongst customers, so we guess Samsung cutting their losses would make sense.
Of course this is just a rumor and Samsung has yet to make it official so take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Are you surprised that Samsung is discontinuing the Galaxy Alpha this early on?
