It goes without saying that keeping healthy is one of the core areas in life where everyone ought to look into – after all, health is wealth. However, there are moments in life when you do not feel as though you would like to work the treadmill, so why not settle for a virtual workout instead? Digital health and fitness service Runtastic is currently working on a virtual reality experiment, where they have announced the arrival of strength and toning exercises that will see action on the Oculus Rift headset.
Runtastic CEO Florian Gschwandtner shared, “The integration of Runtastic and Oculus Rift offers users a totally new experience. This will be a true game-changer for the entire fitness industry.”
In other words, users will be able to wear an Oculus Rift VR headset that you see above, and perform squats as well as lunges – at a place of their choice, instead of from a musty smelling basement, or the usual gym surroundings. It does not matter where you are – exercising with the Oculus Rift would be able to transport you to the destination of your choice. However, it must be noted that it would be pretty awkward to be sweating beads all over the place, while wearing something like the Oculus Rift around your head, don’t you think so?
