A rather interesting tweet was posted on the official Qualcomm account a couple of hours ago which apparently hints at a new smartphone that LG is going to unveil at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 in Las Vegas next week. Qualcomm didn’t reveal much about this smartphone apart from the fact that it will be one of its Snapdragon chips which is going to power the device.
Even though there are no logos in the picture that confirm this device will belong to LG the design is unmistakable For starters it appears to have back-mounted volume and power buttons, which has become something of a LG trademark these days, as well as the finished back panel that we’ve seen on previous LG devices like the G3.
Qualcomm only writes in its tweet that “a new #Snapdragon 800 powered smartphone is launching next week at @intlCES – here’s a first look.” The image has been edited to show that a Qualcomm chip will indeed be living underneath.
We haven’t heard from LG so far which is why there’s no official word about a new smartphone launch for next week. There’s speculation about this device being the LG G Flex 2 which makes sense to some extent, given that this smartphone is now due for a refresh, and CES 2015 is probably the place to show it off.
