It looks like you will find it hard to get a good gaming session in over Christmas. Just yesterday a hacker group going by Lizard Squad took down both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live for a while, causing a great inconvenience to gamers around the world. Something similar seems to be happening now as gamers are once again facing problems with PSN and Xbox Live. Both Sony and Microsoft have confirmed that they are investigating the issue.
Lizard Squad had previously posted a threat saying that it would target these online gaming networks over Christmas, and that’s what it did last night. Responsibility for the current attack hasn’t been accepted by Lizard Square just yet, or by any other group for that matter.
Sony confirmed that some users were having issues logging into PSN. It said through the official PlayStation Twitter account that “engineers are investigating.” So far no further details have been provided and it is not known at this point in time just how long will it take for all of these issues to be cleared up.
Microsoft also updated the support page to reflect troubles that users are facing when trying to sign into Xbox Live. The company says its hard at work “trying to reach a solution as soon as possible.”
