President Obama And The Hour Of Code

Earlier this month, we did talk about how one would be able to stand a chance to actually code one’s way all the way to the White House. Well, here we are with Hour of Code, which saw the world’s most powerful man, President Obama, actually sit down and host a computer science workshop over at his official residence, the White House.

Not only that, President Obama happens to be the first president in the U.S. to actually write a computer program, now how about that for being hip and happening? President Obama made use of the Blockly tool that hails from Google in order to come up with a particularly small segment of code that would enable the user to actually to draw a square. Of course, one is not going to be able to find an actual and practical use for such a program – drawing squares, but I suppose we are a whole lot more interested in the symbolic event of this program more than the practical applications of it. In other words, a wee bit of effort would enable just about anyone to be able to code.

If President Obama, with so much on his plate can do it, why not you?
