Previously the company required users to have an invite in order to purchase the handset. Presumably this was done to help manage their inventory as the company is a new one, so safe to say that they probably don’t have the same supply levels that other companies such as Apple or Samsung has.
That being said users will now be able to purchase either the 16GB Silk White or 64GB Sandstone Black versions of the OnePlus One via the company’s website where they are priced at $299 and $349 respectively. However OnePlus notes that this will only be available while supplies last, so if you’re still on the fence, you’ll want to make up your mind quickly.
There has been some controversy surrounding OnePlus’ method of handling purchases as it made it rather difficult for some users to get their hands on the device, but like we said it was probably to do with inventory management, but now that the orders are open to everyone, we can only imagine that there will be a rush of customers looking to get their hands on the somewhat elusive handset – are you one of them?
