We witnessed earlier this year just how OnePlus, a new smartphone company on the block, can create hype for its products. It ran a massive hype-creation campaign for its “flagship killer” smartphone, the OnePlus One, even though it times some of its campaigns have backfired. The company has been teasing a “Go Further” announcement for a few devices and its really nothing to be excited about. OnePlus has launched a power bank, an external battery that can be used to charge mobile devices.
The OnePlus Power Bank has a 10,000mAh battery which can be charged and later used to provide juice to mobile devices when they need it, and there’s no electrical outlet nearby. Power banks are a good thing to have particularly if you’re venturing out to places where electricity might be hard to find, they ensure that at least your mobile devices remain charged.
It has two USB ports so two devices can be charged simultaneously. OnePlus is going to start selling it from early next year in both Silk White and Sandstone Black colors. It will be available for a relatively cheap price for $14.99 through the company’s website.
This isn’t something groundbreaking. There are many other options available if you’re in the market for a power bank that offer greater capacity and other functions, so if you really were caught up in the “Go Further” hype, I feel for you.
