Office Online Gets Insights Feature

Microsoft has just introduced a brand new feature to Office Online, which is known as “Insights”. This is not the first time that Microsoft’s Office Online has been on the receiving end of a new feature, and it definitely is not the last. Insights will allow users to search the web directly from Office Online, and while it might sound simple in principle, it is a rather nifty tool to have, don’t you think so? Needless to say, this particular search feature happens to be powered by Bing, which is definitely no coincidence at all.

The Insights feature will hook up with Bing to look for the relevant information, where it will also perform a search on Wikipedia as well as the Oxford English Dictionary, where the latter would provide definition for words.

Microsoft mentioned, “When you right-click on a word and select Insights, Office Online understands what you are looking for and then uses the power of Bing to bring in relevant information from a variety of sources like Bing Snapshot, Wikipedia, Bing Image Search, Oxford English Dictionary and the web—all neatly presented alongside your content.
