These issues happen to center mainly around the OpenCL-driven color corrector DaVinci Resolve, and it “debuted”, so to speak, some time in May earlier this year, “announcing” its arrival in the form of application lockups and visual artifacts on exported video. That point in time saw the scapegoat being Apple’s OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 update, where affected users were touted to wait for a new update, or perhaps perform a downgrade to OS X 10.9.2.
However, after OS X Yosemite was released, the same problems persisted, and it looks like Apple has not done much about it – or at least this is the perceived view taken by the afflicted. Hopefully this will be a case of all’s well that ends well.
