Online video streaming services are increasingly becoming popular not only because they allow users to stream content with relative ease using a variety of devices on different platforms, it’s also because they offer a vast library of content that includes and is in no way limited to movies, TV shows, documentaries and more. However it can get pretty hard to keep up with new additions to the streaming library. Netflix, which is one of the most popular online video streaming services, has teamed up with Twitter to solve this problem to some extent.
The “Tweet Me a Reminder” button was first spotted on Twitter by user @RichBTIG under a tweet for Marco Polo, a Netflix original series. Multiple users reported spotting this button on the iOS and Android Twitter apps.
From the looks of it, it appears that Netflix is using a custom Twitter card which also appears on the web once the tweet is expanded. Clicking on the Tweet Me a Reminder button will prompt you to tweet the message seen in the picture above.
Netflix confirmed to The Next Web that reminders will be sent out over Twitter as soon as all of the new episodes of Marco Polo are made available for streaming on Netflix. So far this button has only been spotted for this one original series from Netflix, and I for one wouldn’t certainly mind being able to use it for other content as well.
