While we have gone on to see selfies as pretty much the norm these days on social network platforms, so too, has the kind of technology involved in front-facing cameras. Otherwise, we will have to settle for turning the handset the other way round to capture a selfie with the back camera. Micromax of India has come up with the Micromax Canvas Selfie smartphone, and as you can tell by the name alone, this is a dual SIM handset that has been specially designed to capture some stunning self portraits.
In front, there is a 13MP front-facing camera that is accompanied by a LED flash. Underneath the hood, the Micromax Canvas Selfie will feature an octa-core 1.7GHz processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, apart from a 4.7” 720p display that has a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it. Apart from that, it will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with a 2,300mAh battery to keep things going.
The back of the camera in the Micromax Canvas Selfie include a dual LED flash. There will also be accompanying software enhancements that will help you edit all of the photos that you have captured, where among them include Eye Enhancement and Face Slimming. Expect this handset to arrive some time in January next year in a couple of shades.
