Well as it turns out a man from Sunderland in northern England did just that. Christopher Hooson decided to steal an Android tablet from a charity store, but when he got home he had no idea how to get it to work, although we’re not sure why this was the case. However instead of keeping it or maybe trying to sell it, Hooson decided to take it back to the store to under the guise of a donation.
Unfortunately for Hooson the store had a CCTV which promptly led to his arrest. Hooson has claimed in court that he had forgotten he had put the tablet in his bag. The judge presiding over the case called Hooson’s act a “particularly mean offense” and fined him for 75 GBP, which ironically enough was more than the tablet which was worth 50 GBP.
We guess it would have been cheaper if Hooson had just paid for the tablet outright, don’t you think?
