It seems that the LG headquarters over in South Korea was stormed by South Korean authorities, as there is an ongoing investigation as to whether LG employees actually performed the intentional act of damaging their rival Samsung’s washing machines. It all started off innocently enough – with LG and Samsung having a rather amusing rivalry, which has since grown into a full-blown investigation, where local prosecutors have kicked off a search and seizure procedure at LG’s Seoul, South Korea headquarters. The other venue would be a factory at Changwon, South Gyeongnam Province, early this Boxing Day.
This particular feud kicked off when Samsung filed a lawsuit against LG, citing that LG appliance boss Jo Seong-jin alongside other executives did purposely sabotage the Samsung-manufactured washing machines over at a electronics store in Berlin during the IFA 2014 tradeshow, where authorities have since picked up the hard drives as well as other data of the those who dropped by the IFA tradeshow alongside Jo.
There was an LG spokesman who confirmed the search, but mentioned that LG was unaware of the extent. What do you think of all this that has happened, and would you like to see a swift resolution to the debacle? I suppose we will have the authorities figure it out in due time.
