Well it looks like Intel will not be slowing down their attempts anytime soon. According to the rumors, Intel’s chipsets could be found in two Lenovo smartphones come 2015. The rumors have suggested that Lenovo will be making the announcement for their new Intel smartphones in the first two months of 2015, which means chances are we could be looking at a possible CES 2015 announcement.
The exact specs and design of these new phones remains unknown, but the source is claiming that they will be powered by Intel’s 64-bit Atom processor with LTE-Advanced modems. One of the phones will be headed towards the Chinese market while the other will make its way to other emerging markets, but no word on whether we will see them released stateside.
Will these new Intel phones be able to make a dent in the market? Well given their rumored LTE-A modems and 64-bit processor, perhaps they could give ARM-based devices a run for their money, but only time will tell so until then do take it with a grain of salt for now.
