Keewifi Is A Router That Eliminates The Need For Passwords
Whenever you go to a cafe, restaurant, or a friend’s house and you want to hop onto their WiFi, you will need to get their password which sometimes they themselves might have forgotten. In fact sometimes you could easily forget your own WiFi password when trying to setup a new device simply because you haven’t used it in a while.
Well the alternative is to remove the password, but this could encourage WiFi leeching from nearby users, so what else can you do? Well if you’d rather not bother with the hassle of passwords and want to keep the leeches out, perhaps the Keewifi router could be of interest to you.
The Keewifi router will not require any passwords. Instead to connect to the WiFi network, it will rely on proximity meaning that all users need to do is hold their WiFi device near the Keewifi router and within seconds, users should be authorized to use the WiFi. Not only does this do away with the need for passwords, but it also prevents those not in your home, cafe, restaurant to steal your WiFi and eat your bandwidth.
Apart from that nifty feature, Keewifi is your typical router. It will support 802.11ac networks and has a button called the “Zen Button” which will resolve WiFi issues at a touch of a button, assuming of course the problem isn’t to do with your ISP. Its creators are also boasting that the software the Keewifi runs is a business-grade WiFi driver that promises a stable and reliable WiFi signal.
The WiFi will also come with an accompanying app that shows who is connected to the WiFi, as well as approving new devices and also banning devices from it. So far the router has managed to raise over $70,000 which is $20,000 more than its original goal of $50,000, but if you’d like to get in on it, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
