These days there is no activity on the jailbreak front by development teams that were on the forefront during the iOS 4.x and iOS 5.x days. Chinese teams have taken the baton and multiple jailbreaks for iOS 8.x have been released by teams based in the People’s Republic. TaiG is one such team that has instantly updated its jailbreak tool to provide users with the required software for iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak.
Apple released iOS 8.1.2 for supported iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models just yesterday. It is the second incremental update for iOS 8.1 which brings some important bug fixes, performance and stability improvements.
Soon after iOS 8.1.2 was released over-the-air i0n1c and iH8sn0w, two very prominent figures in the jailbreak community, suggested that the update doesn’t block TaiG jailbreak. That has turned out to be true because the team has updated its tool, which has been confirmed to work on the latest software release from Apple.
Whenever a new software release is pushed out it is assumed that Apple may have patched whatever exploit that allowed for the jailbreak. The company has done this on numerous occasions, but clearly this is not one of them.
Those who are interested in an iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak on supported devices, including both iPhone 6 models, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, can go ahead and download TaiG on Windows. A Mac version will be released in the near future.
