There is a HTC Service Pack update in the Google Play Store for the HTC One M8 and the HTC One M7 and if you were thinking about going ahead and downloading and updating your phone, you might want to hold off on doing so for now. According to reports, it seems that out of the blue both the HTC One M8 and One M7 are having issues with voice calls.
User reports have claimed that they are unable to make phone calls with their phones and that even hearing a dial tone when placing a call is no longer possible. Some users have suggested fixes such as clearing cache from Google Play Services, Google Play Framework, and in some cases even uninstalling chrome.
However it should be noted that these are temporary fixes that don’t necessarily guarantee that the problem won’t return. Worst comes to worst, a user could always factory reset their phone to try and get around it, but we all know how tedious the process can be, not to mention you’d have to pretty much restore everything after that.
HTC has yet to comment on the issue and hopefully we will hear from them soon, along with an update that will address this, but in the meantime have any of our readers been affected by the sudden loss of the ability to make voice calls?
