With the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus featuring NFC support for Apple Pay, we’re sure Google Wallet users would be more than pleased if Apple were to open up the feature to Google, but unfortunately it looks like that will not be happening anytime soon. That being said, Google has recently updated Google Wallet for iOS.
In the updated version of the app, Google has introduced a handful of new features, one of which is the ability to unlock the app via your fingerprint through the Touch ID feature. Users will also be able to see their loyalty and gift cards offline, and for those who go out and eat with colleagues and friends, Google Wallet for iOS now lets users split the bill.
The feature basically lets users choose who they want to split the bill with and mark their share of the total, after which the users will be sent a reminder to settle the bill with the person who paid for everything. Unfortunately the Google Wallet app will not be able to chase down friends and colleagues who are slow at repaying, so use that feature at your own discretion!
In the meantime if you’d like to get your hands on the updated Google Wallet app, head on over to the iTunes App Store for the download.
