Now while Apple has since managed to settle with parents by refunding their purchases, Google is also looking to do the same as well. As part of the company’s $19 million settlement with the US FTC, Google has recently started to send out emails to users who might have been affected by the in-app purchases, thus offering them a refund the process.
According to the email sent out by Google, “We understand some parents might have been charged for in-app purchases made by young children who did not have permission to make those purchases. As a result, we’ve added tools to help parents avoid unauthorized in-app purchases by their young children. We are also offering refunds in certain cases in line with our agreement with the FTC.”
If you think that you’re one of those affected by the in-app purchases, you can try your luck asking Google for a refund. Customers will have until the 2nd of December 2015 to make their request.
