Have you ever wished that you had the agility as well as the extraordinary abilities of a superhero, such as Spiderman? Peter Parker’s masked alter ego is blessed with the unique “spider sense” that warns him of incoming danger, allowing his reflexes to save his skin just about every single time, all the while being able to stick onto nearly any surface as the wall crawler goes about his duties to make the Big Apple a safer place to live in. After all, with great power comes great responsibility, doesn’t it? Well, a bunch of Stanford students who must have had thoughts of being Spiderman before have come up with what they call the Gecko Gloves, where it will enable the wearer to scale walls, now how about that?
These paddles were specially developed in order to help humans scale glass walls in the same manner as that of a gecko. There is no magic or wizardry involved here – just plain old scientific principles that is in action each time a gecko moves around and about.
Elliot Hawkes, a member of the research team, said, “One of the most important attributes of their adhesive is that it’s controllable, like tape that you can turn on when you want it to stick, and turn off when you don’t.”
Definitely one of the cooler pair of gloves that we have come across, right?
