Here’s some news that’s going to make a lot of Galaxy S5 users in the U.S. envious. Samsung has been gradually rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its existing flagship device in various markets around the world. Its home turf of South Korea got it, and so have many markets in Europe, and today the roll out is further being extended over the continent.

As far as users in the U.S. are concerned they will have to wait for a bit longer. Even though it has been reported multiple times that Samsung is testing out the update there are several procedures that need to be completed first before Lollipop can be pushed out, carrier approval is one such procedure, and it usually takes up a lot of time.

Today, Samsung is rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 in Spain. It won’t stop there. Over the next couple of weeks the update is going to be released in even more countries across Europe, after which the Galaxy Note 4 is likely to receive the same treatment in these markets.

It has already been over a month since Android 5.0 Lollipop was officially released by Google. Those who are based in the U.S. might have to wait for a couple of months before they can get the latest iteration of Google’s mobile platform on their Samsung Galaxy S5.
