Ford’s most recent communications and entertainment system, known as the SYNC 3, will now boast of faster performance, additional conversational voice recognition, not to mention a more intuitive smartphone-like touch screen as well as easier-to-understand graphical interface so that Ford customers will be able to connect and control their smartphone while they are behind the wheel to a particular destination.
Not only that, another on new addition to the mix would include the seamless integration of AppLink, paving the way for one to enjoy a simple method of controlling smartphone apps. iPhone users will be able to enjoy the Siri Eyes-Free capability, while one can receive over-the-air software updates thanks to a Wi-Fi connection, not to mention an enhanced 911 Assist experience that delivers subscription-free emergency calling just in case there is an accident that happened right there and then.
So far, we do know that the SYNC technology is already seeing action in over 10 million SYNC-equipped vehicles worldwide, and SYNC 3 is tipped to debut on new vehicles from next year onward. It just goes to show how cars are starting to get smarter and smarter, at least in terms of connectivity with the rest of the world. It would certainly bode well for the future, self-driving cars included.
