EDAG Engineering Delivers The Light Cocoon Concept

Not all cars are created equal, this much we know. After all, there are such things like supercars for the extremely rich, whose maintenance of such rides would cost an arm and a leg for the ordinary man on the street, not to mention the impracticalities of it all – but you do get to enjoy the likes of style and swagger unlike any other ride. Well, the folks over at EDAG Engineering intend to outdo whatever cars there are out there, by offering 3D printing to go along with its Light Cocoon concept that you see above.

The Light Cocoon would pay homage to the leaf – the natural kind, the one that remains on a tree of course, instead of the electric powered Nissan Leaf, thanks to it making use of a fabric membrane that has been stretched over a skeletal structure. EDAG Engineering claims that this particular creation happens to be the “ultimate in lightweight construction,” where its outer coating is a waterproof fabric that hails from from Jack Wolfskin, and it is called Texapore Softshell.
