This is according to a recent survey conducted by analyst Gene Munster in which he surveyed 1,004 US customers about their upcoming smartphone purchase plans. When asked who was planning on buying a new smartphone in the next three months, 50% responded by saying they wanted to get an iPhone.
This is an increase from a survey conducted in September in which 47% of those surveyed said they wanted to get an iPhone. Comparing this to last year, demand for the iPhone 5s actually took a dip following the handset’s launch, which like we said earlier is to be expected as more customers start to get their hands on the device.
This survey also corroborates Munster’s earlier report in which he revealed that demand for the new iPhones were still outstripping its supply. However as evidenced on Apple’s online store, shipping times have greatly improved to about 1 business day for certain models, suggesting that supply levels could be normalizing and/or that production is finally able to catch up to the demand.
