Bungie’s much awaited title was released a few months back and it did well with gamers around the world. Destiny’s first expansion was released only a couple of weeks back and over the weekend the developer made available a Strange Coin vendor at the Tower. Unfortunately due to the DDoS attack on online gaming services many gamers were unable to take advantage of Xur’s presence which is why Bungie has decided to extend Xur’s stay for a day or so.

Gamers might have experienced trouble when trying to log into Xbox Live and PlayStation Network over Christmas that’s because both gaming services were under attack by a group that calls itself Lizard Squad. The services started going back online starting yesterday and both Microsoft and Sony have confirmed that things are up and running once again.

Addressing the community on the official forums, Bungie announced that since Xur has been hard to reach for most gamers this weekend, his stay will be extended with his current inventory until Monday, 10pm PST. Bungie also promised to keep an eye on the overall situation and even prolong the extension further if need be for as long as it remains feasible.

Destiny players can visit Xur in the Tower to trade in the Strange Coins they’ve collected for some exotic gear.
