I am quite sure that many of us are familiar with HERE, which so happens to be the mapping brand from Nokia that makes it a snap to find your way around without having to rely on a data connection since whatever has been pre-loaded earlier on stays there, making it useful whenever you head out in a foreign country and would not want to be greeted by any form of “bill shock”. Nokia has announced that they have come to an agreement with Baidu, where the latter happens to be the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, in order to have HERE power its latest desktop and mobile map services located outside of China.
Baidu’s location services happen to allow those from China who travel overseas to actually start planning their trips while they are still back home – so that they can have a hassle free holiday, knowing how to get from point A to point B without getting lost upon landing.
It is touted that the desktop version of Baidu Maps alongside the iOS and Android apps will see their territory coverage expanded to venture beyond that of Mainland China to Taiwan initially, before other countries or territories arrive in tow later on.
