This is thanks to a job listing spotted by iClarified in which the company is looking for an “Apple Pay Intern” who will work with the Apple Pay team in expanding Apple Pay beyond the US borders. According to the job summary, “Apple Pay is a new and exciting area in Apple that is set to expand across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.”
More references to Apple’s EMEIA expansion plans are made at the bottom of the job summary which requires the applicant to, “Provide administrative support to the EMEIA Apple Pay team for business development and contract negotiations.” Now we know that Apple will eventually roll out Apple Pay to other countries in the future, although when exactly still remains a mystery.
However if this job listing is any indication, it looks like Apple is ready to start looking into other countries, although like we said an exact date regarding availability still remains to be seen. So far stateside Apple Pay appears to be a success, with many banks and retailers signing up for the service, although how it will fare in overseas markets remains to be seen.
