While we have heard of rumors concerning Apple having a mind to hire retail employees who happen to have a fashion or luxury background, here we are with another bit of news that Cupertino intends to open up yet another Apple Store – this time around, it will be located somewhere in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Brooklyn has more or less become a hipster area for those who are up and coming in their respective careers, and the Bedford Avenue location might be the right place for Apple to plonk down the money for a new building to sell their highly desirable wares, taking into consideration how Apple has recently signed a long term lease.
This particular building will be two storeys high, carrying a total retail space of 20,000 square feet, and will be conveniently located close to the Bedford Avenue L Station. In other words, the location itself is extremely strategic, as it attracts traffic from outside the borough as well via the station. At this point in time, the entire retail area is going through a renovation exercise, where it is tipped to be ready for action when April 2015 rolls around. Taking into consideration how it is so much more affordable to have a commercial space in Brooklyn compared to Manhattan, the overall rental cost is still not cheap – approximately $200 per-square-foot.
