Earlier this year Google unveiled its latest plan to conquer your living room. With its previous effort having failed quite miserably the company come back with a proverbial bang by unveiling Android TV. Even though the project is in its infancy at this point there has been some positive response from consumers. Google today released the Android TV launcher on Google Play Store.
This gives the company an easy way to update the user interface easily without having to push out an entire software update. Many companies have adopted this policy as they simply unbundle features into separate apps which can then be swiftly updated when the need arises.
Which is why the Android TV launcher app will serve a good purpose. It makes getting new tweaks easier for users as well, because instead of having to download big software updates, a relatively small app update brings new features just as easily.
Yet there’s more significane of this move. One of the reasons why Google TV met an early demise was the lack of software updates which resulted into buggy experiences irking users for longer periods of time. The Android TV launcher app brings time back on Google’s side, which is something it definitely needs, if it wants Android TV to thrive.
