Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for this year’s flagship smartphone. Customers in many markets of the world have been anxiously waiting for this update to drop. Not too long ago LG released Lollipop for the G3 in Poland and Samsung has decided to follow suit. Anyone and everyone in Poland with a Samsung Galaxy S5 model SM-G900F can now download the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
This is the first such official release of its kind for the Galaxy S5. Previously we have seen leaked Android 5.0 builds running on the Galaxy S5 but no stable ones have been leaked as yet.
Those who know their model numbers will be aware that SM-G900F is the international unlocked variant of the Galaxy S5. This means that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be appearing for this particular variant in other markets as well, other European countries are likely going to be the first ones to receive the Lollipop update.
We must address the all-important question here. There’s no concrete release timeframe for this update as far as North America is concerned. Samsung certainly hasn’t confirmed any dates and we must keep in mind that delays at the hands of mobile carriers will also go a long way in delaying the release of Lollipop for end users.
