How is this possible? Well it seems that Nintendo’s Amiibo figurines could very well propel Nintendo back into high profits. According to an analyst report from Bloomberg, it has been estimated that Nintendo could very well pull in a whopping $1 billion in the US alone from sales of the Amiibo figurines.
According to Tomoaki Kawasaki, “Nintendo has picked up good momentum heading into the Christmas season. This time they have a hit lineup. Amiibo represents a new revenue source, and we are watching it very closely.” Kawasaki is not alone in his optimism as additional analysts have predicted Nintendo’s profits to triple to around $29 billion by the year’s end.
This is certainly a change from a year or two ago where many were predicting Nintendo’s end and lamenting how Nintendo should step out of their comfort zone and start releasing more games for the mobile market, a move which Nintendo has steadfastly refused to budge on.
