Amiibo Could Be Supported By Third Party Publishers
Ah, Nintendo – they might not do so well with their latest console, the Wii U, amongst the midst of the other competitors, but this does not mean that Nintendo is at a dead end. Their collection of amiibo figurines (with some set to be discontinued), which have been estimated to have the potential to rake in up $1 billion in sales in the future, is now seeing the possibility of receiving support by other third party publishers. Of course, we have seen defective amiibo figurines like Samus Aran that has racked up quite a value of its own on eBay, but today’s story is about how amiibo figures will be supported by third party publishers, with Bandai Namco having announced that they will support amiibo figures in One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X.
This One Piece title rolled out in Japan on November 13, where it will offer support for Nintendo’s amiibo thanks to the inclusion of an option to unlock Nintendo-themed costumes for characters that are within the game. For instance, Luffy will have the opportunity to dress up like Mario and Luigi if their respective amiibo figures happen to see action. How about letting Sanji get all worked out in a Fox McCloud costume? Do bear in mind that this feature seems to be available only in the Japanese version as at press time.
