It seem that Forbes has a rather interesting bit of information concerning Xiaomi of China – which is a company that is fast rising up the ranks among the world of smartphone manufacturers. Xiaomi is currently on the lookout for additional funding which might just see the company’s valuation hit the rather impressive $40 billion mark, now how about that? $40 billion would place it squarely at four times the amount of its existing valuation of $10 billion thereabouts.
When approached, a Xiaomi official did not want to comment on the situation, although Forbes did mention that there were “multiple sources” who have already confirmed the situation. This would mean that Xiaomi would have overtaken incumbent manufacturers such as Sony and Lenovo, who stand at $19.5 billion and $15.6 billion, respectively, where market capitalization is concerned, it would also thrust it into the enviable position of being the most valuable private tech company in the world.
Is Xiaomi actually making plenty of money with the kind of extremely affordable price tags that appear on most of its devices in the market? It can be difficult to tell, since no such details have been reported from Xiaomi to date, but generally speaking, there are good vibes all around the company.
