When it comes to the action camera market, one particular name stands out for sure – and that would be GoPro, of course. They happen to carry a monopoly over just about any other sporting event, including all other drone cams, but there is still one particular action camera market that GoPro has not yet managed to break through – the Russian dash cams. Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has started to dominate the continent of Asia, does seem to be looking into the possibility of actually delivering their very own action camera.
Do bear in mind that this is still a rumor, and nothing official has been released or verified just yet. Xiaomi might actually roll out their very own wearable camera in order to pick up the emerging sports market in China. Some whispers do point to the camera being manufactured by Ant Technology, a manufacturer that is based in Shanghai, and it could very well roll out before the end of this year is over.
It remains to be seen just whether this camera will be able to cause a disruption to the Western market, and only time will tell. Do you think that Xiaomi is going to be a success? After all, they are looking to seek for more funding to hit the $40 billion mark.
