When it comes to renewable energy, there has been leaps and bounds in terms of advancements for greener vehicles. However, not every country has the relevant and necessary infrastructure to be able to afford the support for fully electric cars on their roads. Still, we have seen Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota do their bit in the past, such as with the Toyota FCV-R concept a few years back that does function as template for the new Mirai – which means “future” in Japanese.
The Toyota Mirai happens to be a fuel-cell powered sedan which has a 300 mile (483 kilometers) range on a single hydrogen tank. The beauty of the Toyota Mirai happens to be the fact that it can be refilled in under five minutes, now how about that for a quick recharge whenever you are running low on juice?
It must be noted that majority of the battery-only cars in the U.S. have a range of 100 miles, tops, on a full charge, and it can take hours to juice them up. The Toyota Mirai looks set to be a turning point, allowing people to embrace an environmentally friendly car. It remains to be seen how much the Toyota Mirai will be priced in the U.S., no thanks to the weakening Japanese yen, but it will hit Japan next April for approximately 7 million yen.
