Purchasing a car can be said to be the second biggest purchase that you will ever make in your life – right after a home, of course, and in this particular context, I am referring to the everyday salaryman since the other rich and famous people would most probably have far more frivolous purchases such as precious gems and artwork that cost a whole lot more than the car itself. Having said that, the Tesla Model S is touted to be priced higher in Europe than the US price, no thanks to fluctuations in the currency.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, however, has reassured future buyers of the Tesla Model S that the price increase will quite unlikely to be a major one, citing that it is all part and parcel of life- basically attributed to the occasional purchase price adjustments that the company is required to perform.
Musk said, “We’re probably going to have to adjust the price of our car in euros upwards because there has been a 7 percent change in the exchange rates of the euro versus the dollar. So we’ll periodically have to make pricing adjustments if the exchange rate band gets too wide. I would certainly encourage anyone in Europe to purchase their car soon because we probably will have to make an adjustment there.”
