There’s a new software update rolling out today for LG G Flex owners on T-Mobile. Magenta has rolled out this update today to bring this smartphone into its VoLTE fold. The new software update also adds one other feature to the device. This flexible device was unveiled by LG last year and T-Mobile was one of the carriers that offered in the country.

If you’re a G Flex owner on T-Mobile let me be the one to tell you to hold your horses. This update doesn’t bring up the software version to 5.0. Its not the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update for T-Mobile LG G Flex so don’t expect that you’ll be able to take advantage of the many changes that Google has made in the latest iteration of its mobile platform.

This Android 4.4.2 KitKat software update for the T-Mobile LG G Flex will turn on VoLTE services in markets where Magenta’s VoLTE network has already gone live. It also adds support for in-flight texting, a feature that can be utilized when you’re on a flight that offers this service.

The flight needs to be equipped with Gogo Wi-Fi for this to work as the feature is made possible by a partnership between T-Mobile and Gogo.

The new software update for T-Mobile LG G Flex is rolling out now and will automatically land on devices over-the-air.
