Uber, a ride-sharing service that connects you with available drivers around you, is set to announce a new partnership with Spotify tomorrow if a report is to be believed. This new partnership will reportedly enable Uber riders to play their own music in their cars while they hitch a ride with this application. This new partnership is expected to be formally announced tomorrow.

The report comes from The New York Times which claims that Uber and Spotify will make a formal announcement on Monday, November 17th. This partnership will bring Spotify’s streaming music catalog to Uber users when they are using the ride-sharing service, the newspaper cites two people familiar with the companies’ plans as sources.

The way this will work is described to be pretty simple. Hail a ride through Uber’s app on iOS or Android and step into the car when it arrives. Once in the car, the passenger will be able to listen to music from their own Spotify playlist.

It hasn’t been revealed exactly how this will work, and how the two applications will be able to work together, so we’ll have to wait for the official announcement from both companies to get an idea on how they plan on making this work. No word as yet if this feature will be provided at an additional charge.
