The event will be taking place in the middle of February and according to the report, Sony will be announcing at least one new full frame E-mount camera. Their sources have indicated to them that this will be a completely new generation of cameras and will be aimed at the professional user in mind.
It is expected to feature brand new sensors, a more advanced version of the Sony A6000’s hybrid autofocus system, and have been designed to challenge high-end DSLR cameras like the Nikon and the Canon 5D MK III. Interestingly enough SAR have been told that the A7 cameras were designed to study the market to better understand what they should do next.
So with the rumored new full frame E-mount cameras, Sony is expected to go all out and deliver the best hardware possible in an attempt to determine whether the best mirrorless camera can go up against the best DSLRs. It sounds very exciting and if you were impressed with the Sony A7-series of cameras, perhaps these might kick things up a level. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us next year during CP+ for the details.
