Sony has had a tradition of announcing two flagship phones a year, just like Samsung. Now the Sony Xperia Z3 was announced a few months ago, which means that come early part of 2015, we can expect Sony to make yet another announcement. Now some of the rumors are suggesting that this could be the Xperia Z4 and given Sony’s habit of naming their devices, we don’t see why not.
That being said, Sony has recently confirmed on their website that they will be in attendance at CES 2015 which kicks off in the early part of the year. They have also confirmed that they will be holding a press conference on the 5th of January, presumably to make new product announcements.
While they did not dive into specifics, many are speculating that this could be the venue in which the Xperia Z4 could be announced. With the Xperia Z announced at CES 2013, we suppose it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that the Xperia Z4 could be announced at CES 2015 either. Of course none of this can be confirmed yet, but we will keep our eyes peeled for more information.
There is also a chance that the Xperia Z4 could be Sony’s only flagship phone for 2015. According to earlier reports, the fact that Sony isn’t doing so well in the mobile front could prompt the company to release one flagship phone a year, as opposed to two like they are currently doing.
