If you’re looking for a somewhat affordable mirrorless camera from Sony and you don’t need a full frame sensor found in the Sony A7-series, then perhaps the Sony A6000 could be for you. While the camera isn’t cheap per se, it does offer up pretty impressive specs and based on reviews of the camera, pretty decent performance as well.
Now the camera is offered in a black or silver finish, but for those who were after something a bit more unique, it seems that Sony has recently announced that they will be offering up the camera in a white finish which will be arriving in time for the holiday season. The White Christmas edition camera will be going on sale from mid-December and will be accompanied by a 16-50mm kit lens.
Unfortunately it seems that the kit lens will not be of white Christmas variety. Instead it will come with a silver finish which might seem a little mismatched, but then again we doubt Sony would redesign their entire lens lineup just to match the color scheme of a special edition camera, right? If you’re ok with that, then the setup will cost you $1,099.
In terms of specs, the Sony A6000 is boasting a 24.3MP sensor and will have an ISO range of up to 25,600. It will shoot 11fps versus 10fps from the NEX-6, and according to Sony they are boasting that the A6000 has one of the fastest auto-focusing systems around, thanks to its hybrid contrast and phase-detection system.
