This expanded recall will include the Toughbook H2 battery packs that were manufactured between June 2011 and September 2012, where it will follow up on a recall that was announced earlier this year on May 28, which covered battery packs manufactured between June 2011 and May 2012. What is the reason for the recall? Panasonic has cited a rare possibility of overheating or igniting due to a manufacturing condition, although it must be noted that there has been no reports whatsoever concerning fires or injuries in the US to date – and let’s keep it that way.
Do take note that while there are two battery slots (which are located on the left and right sides), only the battery packs that depict both numbers will have to go through the replacement process. After all, isn’t prevention better than cure? [Press Release]
