nexus 6 batteryBattery life in a smartphone is important because no one likes having their phones die on them halfway through the day. As it stands, most of us would be happy if we could get through an entire day without worrying about our phones dying on us. Now we’re sure some of you guys are wondering about the Nexus 6.

The handset comes with a decently sized 3,220mAh battery, but how does that stack up against the competition? After all battery size is one thing, optimized hardware and software also plays a part in making sure that the battery is used efficiently. Well the folks at PhoneArena have recently conducted a battery test of their own.

According to their findings, the Nexus 6 managed to last 7 hours and 53 minutes. This is based on a custom web-script which is meant to replicate real-life use. So how does this fare against the competition? Well the Nexus 6 places fifth as you can see in the screenshot above where it sits below devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Huawei Ascend Mate7, Sony Xperia Z3, and the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra.

However it does beat out the likes of the HTC One M8 albeit by 40 minutes, and the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G3. Of course your mileage might vary as you might prefer to set your screen brightness as low as possible and may only use your phone for calls and texting mostly, but either way this is a good indication and we will naturally be running tests of our own, so do check back with us later for the results.
