Even though the Nexus 6 can be purchased from the Google Play Store as well as Motorola’s own website its not like customers haven’t faced any problems when trying to place their orders. Many found that both online stores were out of stock and when additional stock was made available, it sold out within an hour or so. Those waiting for the retail launch will be disappointed when the Nexus 6 likely makes its way to T-Mobile stores on November 12th, because even at brick and mortar stores the inventory is believed to be “constrained.”
This, according to a leaked internal memo from T-Mobile, received by the folks over at AndroidPolice. The memo reads that even though select T-Mobile retail stores will receive inventory on November 12th, the stock will be constrained, so customers may also be directed towards Ship-to Direct Fulfillment.
Basically what this means is that the store is going to take your money and the unit will be shipped directly to your house. That may or may not enable you to get your hands on the Nexus 6 faster than it would take for a unit to arrive if ordered from Google Play Store or Motorola’s website.
The memo does mention that 1,800 retail locations across the country will receive demo devices by November 11th, so even if you’re not able to immediately purchase one and take it home, you’ll be able to pop in your local T-Mobile store and give the Nexus 6 a try.
