If there is one particular signature about the Mortal Kombat gaming franchise, it would be the fatalities. I suppose that was the mark of when video games had the “license” to show a whole lot more gore than ever before, and what we see now in the game is not going to be too much of a shocker, really, with all of the various horror movies that gets shown these days. Netherrealm Studios has kept to their word of offering additional Mortal Kombat X footage, and this time around, it would be a couple of fatalities that come under the spotlight – and they happen to hail from Quan Chi and Scorpion.
Both fatalities were impressive in their own right, and happen to be the most graphic depictions shown off to date, so it remains to be seen whether there will be anything else that will top these. For starters, Scorpion will send a fireball flying through Sub-Zero’s chest, where his dangling heart will then be exposed, prior to having the front of his face literally removed from him. This leaves his brain hanging there, and his corpse would then fall onto the ground with a thump.
Quan Chi, on the other hand, relies on some telepathy in order to send Kortal Kahn toward a levitating sword. This would see the sword pierce Kahn through the mouth, and it continues all the way to the handle before being disemboweled, with the coup de grace seeing him cut into two clean halves. Definitely not for the weak hearted.
