The name Mercedes-Benz is synonymous with luxury automobiles, and over the years, their designs have continued to thrill car lovers all over the world. Well, it seems that this German automobile manufacturer is currently going through an overhaul of their SUV and crossover range where makeup and name are concerned, with word that a new GLC model will see off the GLK, while a GLE will replace the GL, with even a spanking new G-Class said to roll off production line soon. However, there is also a recently unveiled Vision G-Code concept which boasts the form factor of a Sports Utility Coupe.
This Vision G-Code concept measures 161” in length, which would make it even shorter compared to Mercedes’ smallest crossover at the moment, the GLA. Despite the apparent lack of length, you will find that the Vision G-Code comes chock full with cutting-edge technology. For starters, it will rely on multi-voltaic silver paint which is capable of turning the entire body into a solar panel.
Not only that, a holographic grille located at the front will be able to depict just which mode the ride is in at the moment, being flanked by cool looking LED headlights while sporting another strop of LEDs around back for that added touch of class. Small cameras will appear from the hidden A-pillars in lieu of rearview mirrors – not to mention cut drag. Will this eventually be realized one day? Perhaps, and it would be a great day, that.
