So a couple of days ago, Nintendo announced (finally) that they would be bringing the classic The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask onto the Nintendo 3DS. The game was released on the Nintendo N64 back in 2000 so safe to say that many gamers are probably looking to relive the experience on their handheld consoles.
Now while the game will only be released in the spring of 2015, a recent video has surfaced which basically compares the upcoming 3DS version of the game to the N64 version. Now if you were thinking that the 3DS version would get some improvements visually, you’d be right, although in all honesty these visual improvements appear to be very minor, at least from what we can tell in the video.
So far what is noticeable is how the textures in the game have been improved. They are now slightly more detailed, which is good, and the shading and lighting also appears to be more even, as opposed to the N64 version which had some really dark areas, but then again given the somewhat weird and creepy nature of the game, we guess it adds a bit of flavor to it.
In any case Nintendo hasn’t really been known for their graphics to begin with as opposed to the gameplay, which is why despite the fact that Majora’s Mask is 14 years old, the company has seen enough demand to re-release it for the 3DS almost a decade and a half later, but what do you guys think? Do you like what you see?
