It has been a while since we have had a new piece of hardware from Jolla and it looks like our wish might be fulfilled soon. It has already been nearly an year since the first Sailfish OS handset was released by Jolla and a big hint suggests that this company, made up most of ex-Nokia men and women, is on track to unveil a new device.
A teaser image posted online by Jolla, with the promise that “Something BIG is about to begin,” is all that we need to come to terms with the possibility that a new device from this company is on the cards. Unfortunately it is hard to tell from the hint that we have been provided whether Jolla will be unveiling a new smartphone or will it be stepping into the world of tablets.
Not only will the new hardware be interesting to see, what might interest people is how the Sailfish OS has progressed over the past year. The operating system isn’t as popular as the market leaders and that primarily because it doesn’t power a plethora of devices from dozens of different OEMs.
Jolla will be making an announcement come November 19th, 2014. We’ll update you on whatever it is that the company has up its sleeve.
