According to a rumor yesterday, it was said that Jawbone could announce a couple of new fitness trackers as soon as this week, and sure enough they have. The company has recently taken the wraps off the Jawbone UP3. The UP3 will be the successor the Jawbone’s previous release, so if you’re looking for a new fitness tracker, this could be worth checking out.
As mentioned in our earlier report, one of Jawbone’s trackers will be of the flagship variety and in this case it would be the UP3. It will come with a host of sensors and will sport a stylish new design which will hopefully appeal to those who might not have found its previous designs particularly attractive. For those who are into design, it might be of interest to note the designer Yves Behar is the person responsible for the UP3’s design.
It will also come with a host of sensors which includes a tri-axis accelerometer, bioimpedance trackers, along with skin and ambient temperature sensors. This allows the band to measure your heart rate in a similar way to the Microsoft Band. It will also be able to track your sleep so you will know how good of a sleep you had the other night, and is also smart enough to detect what kind of activities you are doing and categorize it accordingly.
Jawbone is also boasting that the device will feature a 7-day battery life and will be water resistant up to 10 meters, so if you don’t particularly enjoy having to charge your wearables everyday, this week-long battery life could be a selling point. The UP3 will be available later this year where it will be priced at $180.
