iPad Pro Production Pushed To Q2 2015 Due To Manufacturing Issues [Rumor]

ipad-mini-retina-review-appstoreWe have been hearing rumors that Apple is working on a larger iPad, which at the moment is tentatively known as the iPad Pro and it is said to feature a 12.9-inch display (or 12.2-inches, depending on which rumor you are reading). The tablet is said to be launched in the early part of 2015, but according to new predictions from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, that might no longer be the case.

According to Kuo, it seems that Apple might have run into some manufacturing difficulties with the larger iPad which could see its production pushed to Q2 2015, meaning that its release will be even later than before. The tablet is rumored to use a oxide panel that will allow for high resolution, quick response, and high color saturation, and the time needed for component yields is the reason for the delay.

So far apart from the rumored display size, not much else is known about the alleged iPad Pro tablet. With its larger display, it is expected to compete against the likes of Samsung’s larger tablets, as well as the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 which many had initially dubbed to be the MacBook Air killer.

It has also been rumored that with the launch of the iPad Pro, Apple could be doing away with the iPad mini lineup, which we guess makes sense since the iPhone 6 Plus offers a whopping 5.5-inch display which some have found to be more than adequate as a mini tablet alternative.
